Gulfport Municipal Marina, MS Live Cam

The municipal marina at Gulfport sits behind a breakwater on the Mississippi Gulf coast, west of Biloxi. The webcam cuts between the pier, the road and the docks.

Everything here is younger than 2005. Hurricane Katrina put a storm surge of about eight metres through this waterfront, took the marina apart and pushed boats and cargo containers into the streets; the harbour was rebuilt afterwards and reopened in 2013.

The commercial port next door ships frozen poultry and fruit and is one of the larger banana terminals in the country. Charter boats work out of the marina into the Gulf, where the water shallows for miles offshore behind a line of barrier islands.
