Elyria East River WaterFall, OH Live Cam

The East Falls of the Black River stand in front of this webcam at Elyria, west of Cleveland in northern Ohio. Water drops over a ledge in the middle of the frame, lit at night, with snow on the rock shelves around it.

The town was founded at this point precisely because of the falls, which powered mills from the 1810s; the two branches of the Black River meet just downstream. A riverwalk runs along the gorge past the drop.

Flow changes completely with the season: heavy after snowmelt and spring rain, a trickle over bare rock in late summer. The overlay carries the local temperature.
