Weather and time
This pan-tilt-zoom camera on an osprey nesting platform in Carova Beach, North Carolina, watches the canals, lawns and shores around the nest. It moves between a wide view west along the canal and close shots of the far banks, the yard below and the animals that visit them.
Carova Beach lies at the northern tip of the Currituck Outer Banks, beyond the end of the paved road in Corolla. Wild horses, believed to descend from Spanish colonial mustangs, roam freely here among the dunes, yards and marshes. Flocks of ducks rest on the sandy banks of the canals that link the neighborhood with Knotts Island Bay.
Its zoom brings distant scenes close, such as horses grazing on a lawn across the water or ducks resting on a sandy shore under the pines. Between these shots it returns to the long view down the canal past the osprey perch.
