That is the point of it. Orphaned kittens taken in for release have to stay wary of people, so the keepers avoid showing themselves and feed out of sight; an animal that learns to approach humans cannot be let go.

Bobcats are the most widespread wild cat in North America and live within a few kilometres of most American cities without being noticed. The sanctuary moved its lions and tigers elsewhere in 2021 and now works mainly with the local species.
