Back Cihu Park, Taoyuan Live Cam

Back Cihu is a park laid out around a reservoir at Daxi, in the hills of Taoyuan in the north of Taiwan. The camera looks over the water and the wooded slopes.

The area was closed to the public for decades. Chiang Kai-shek kept a residence at the lake and was interred nearby after his death in 1975, and the ground around it was a military zone until the 1990s.

A sculpture park a short walk away holds several hundred statues of him, gathered up from schools, barracks and squares across Taiwan when they were removed from public places and put together in one field.
