Playa el Camison Beach, Arona Live Cam

Playa el Camisón runs across this view at Playa de las Américas, on the southern coast of Tenerife in Spain. Thatched parasols and loungers cover the sand, and two breakwaters hold the water flat inside the bay.

This is a made beach: the sand was brought in and the breakwaters built to keep it, which is why the water is calm enough for swimming on an otherwise exposed coast. The promenade behind it runs the length of the resort, past hotels, bars and the shopping centres of Playa de las Américas.

The south of the island is dry and sunny almost year round, and the frame is rarely overcast. The neighbouring resort of Los Cristianos, two kilometres west, has its own camera in the catalogue.
