Take Off Surf Club, Saint Petersburg Live Cam

Dyuny beach lies on the Gulf of Finland at Sestroretsk, about half an hour north-west of central St Petersburg. The webcam looks along the sand from a kitesurfing school.

The gulf here is shallow, brackish and almost tideless, which suits the sport: the water stays waist-deep a long way out and the wind comes across it without much fetch to build waves.

It also freezes. From about January the ice reaches out from this shore and the same club runs snowkiting on it, and the season on the water resumes in April. Pines and dunes run behind the beach for kilometres in both directions.
