Paseo del Pescador, Zihuatanejo Live Cam

Paseo del Pescador is the promenade along the town beach at Zihuatanejo, on the Pacific coast of Guerrero. The camera looks along it from the archaeology museum at one end.

Boats still land here in the morning and sell on the sand, which is what the name refers to. The bay was a port long before that: the museum behind the camera holds material from the trade that ran up this coast in pre-Hispanic times.

The name comes from Nahuatl and is usually translated as the place of women. The town kept its shape while the purpose-built resort at Ixtapa went up along the coast, which is why the two look nothing alike.
