Ixtapa Playa Linda, Mexico Live Cam

Surf breaks along the sand below the resort pools at Playa Linda, on the Pacific coast of Guerrero in Mexico. A forested headland closes the bay on the left, with hills behind the hotel strip.

Ixtapa was built from nothing in the 1970s by the Mexican tourism development agency, next to the old fishing port of Zihuatanejo. The hotel row in the frame is the result, laid out in a single stretch along the shore.

Playa Linda marks the northern end of that strip, where boats leave for Isla Ixtapa across the water. Mangrove channels and a lagoon lie just inland, holding crocodiles and a long list of waterbirds; the webcam looks down on the bay from a tower above the beach.
