Santa Fe Business Centre Live Cam

Santa Fe is the tower district on the western edge of Mexico City, standing on hills above the rest of the capital. The webcam takes in the office blocks, the shopping centre and the traffic between them.

The ground under it was sand quarries and then the city rubbish tip. Development began in the late 1980s, capping the fill and putting offices and flats on top of it, and the district went up a good deal faster than anything built to serve it.

It is notoriously hard to get around on foot: the streets were laid out for cars, pavements stop where they meet a slip road, and most of the people working here commute up from the valley floor several hundred metres below.
