Ixtapa Beach Live Cam

Playa El Palmar runs across this view at Ixtapa, on the Pacific coast of the state of Guerrero in Mexico. Hotel gardens and palms fill the foreground, the beach curves away to the north, and a rock islet stands offshore.

Ixtapa was built from nothing in the 1970s as a planned resort, a few kilometres from the old fishing town of Zihuatanejo, which is why the hotels here stand in a single line along one bay. The Pacific swell reaches this beach directly, so the surf is heavier than at the sheltered coves nearby.

The wet season runs from June to October and brings afternoon storms off the ocean. Sunset falls straight down the bay in front of the camera.
