Finch Hattons Camp, Tsavo West Live Cam

This camera looks out from Finch Hattons Camp on the south-western edge of Tsavo West National Park in Kenya. The wide view shows a marshy waterhole with pools, reeds and acacias, with a line of hills in the distance.

The camp stands on a private concession in Taita-Taveta County, near the Chyulu Hills and not far from Mzima Springs. Tsavo West and Tsavo East together form one of the largest protected areas in Kenya. The ground is red earth mixed with dark volcanic rock, with dry bush and green patches around the water.

The camera changes its view during the day. The main picture is the wide shot of the marsh, with a corner of thatch at the bottom of the frame. From there the camera turns to the woodland, where giraffes stand between bare trees on dark rocky ground, and to open savannah with a conical peak on the horizon.
