Tokyo Dome City, Tokyo Live Cam

This camera looks down from the top floor of the Tokyo Dome Hotel onto Tokyo Dome and the plaza by its Gate 22 in Bunkyo, Tokyo. The curved glass wall of the stadium fills the left side, with amusement park rides to the right.

Tokyo Dome opened in 1988 as the first covered baseball stadium in Japan and is the home ground of the Yomiuri Giants. Its white fabric roof, held up by air pressure, earned it the nickname Big Egg. Around it, Tokyo Dome City adds an amusement park, halls, shops and restaurants.

From the 155-metre tower the plaza is seen almost straight down, with a swinging pirate ship among the rides. The framing shifts during the day between a wider view and a closer one on the dome, and the shadow of the tower moves from the dome onto the plaza by afternoon. After dark the TOKYO DOME lettering glows on the stadium wall.
