Former Tsukiji Market Site, Tokyo Live Cam

This fixed camera in Tsukiji, Chuo ward, Tokyo, overlooks the former Tsukiji Market site and the waterfront beyond it. In the distance the Rainbow Bridge crosses Tokyo Bay.

The Tsukiji wholesale market closed in 2018 when it moved to Toyosu, and the empty site has since been cleared and worked on as a large construction area. The elevated Circular Route No. 2 crosses the ground toward an arched river bridge, with residential towers rising on the far bank. The camera looks out from an upper floor of a building in Tsukiji.

The ground in the foreground changes as the work goes on, with excavators, piles of soil and blue-covered road sections visible in daylight. Past the towers of the bay area, the Rainbow Bridge is a fixed landmark on the horizon, and the light on the water changes through the day.
