Hachioji railway, Tokyo Live Cam

Trains on the Chūō Line pass through Hachiōji in the west of the Tokyo area, and the webcam looks along the tracks from above them. Departure times for both directions are laid over the picture.

The overlay is the useful part: it lists the next services towards Shinjuku and Tokyo on one side and towards Kōfu and Matsumoto on the other, with the temperature and a note on whether the line is running to time.

Hachiōji is a city of half a million in its own right and the point where the commuter service starts to thin out into the mountain line up the valley. The rapid trains here have been orange since the 1950s, a livery kept each time the rolling stock was replaced.
