Forest Wildlife Feeder, Mátra Mountains Live Cam

This camera watches a feeding spot in a forest clearing near Mátraszentimre, high in the Mátra Mountains of northern Hungary. Bare earth strewn with fallen leaves slopes up toward slender deciduous trees, with an old stump and a pile of cut branches in front.

Mátraszentimre is a village of several small settlements in the upper Mátra, the highest mountain range in Hungary. Kékes, the country's highest peak at 1,014 metres, rises about ten kilometres to the south-east. Oak and beech woods cover much of the range and are home to red deer, wild boar and roe deer.

The camera stays on one fixed view of the clearing. A green corn feeder hangs from a tree trunk near the top of the frame, with two low troughs at the foot of the trees. A small overlay in the corner shows the time, temperature and humidity.
