Weather and time
This underwater view shows the shallow coral reef in front of a dock on the south shore of Utila, Honduras, in about 10 feet (3 m) of water. The main view frames a low mound of brain corals and purple sea fans on pale sand, with a taller reef rising behind it.
The dock stands on a quiet stretch of the south shore about 6 km west of Utila Town, the island's main settlement. Its end lies about 175 feet (53 m) from the beach, where the cameras are fixed just above the bottom. The reef starts close to shore here, so corals grow right around the dock.
The stream switches between several fixed views during the day. One looks up at two dock pilings rising from a coral-covered block, another follows the low mound with its sea fans, and a third crosses sandy rubble toward the reef.
