Dumpling Mountain, Katmai National Park Live Cam

This camera on the upper slopes of Dumpling Mountain in Katmai National Park looks down on large lakes, spruce forest and the Brooks River. Tundra covers the foreground, and snow-capped mountains line the horizon beyond the water.

Dumpling Mountain rises behind Brooks Camp, the park's best-known visitor area on the shore of Naknek Lake. The short Brooks River links Lake Brooks with Naknek Lake, and Brooks Falls on this river draws brown bears fishing for salmon in summer. The camera sits at about 650 meters, some 4.5 kilometers from the falls.

The camera turns between several views. The wide panorama follows the turquoise arm of Naknek Lake toward the mountains, with a second lake beyond the forested lowland. Other views zoom in on the Brooks River mouth, where a long bridge spans the water, or look across a lake with small wooded islands.
