Metropolis of Frankfurt Live Cam

The river Main runs below this view from the eastern side of Frankfurt, in the German state of Hesse. Bare trees line the bank in the foreground, and the water runs flat across the middle of the frame with the city beyond.

Frankfurt is the financial centre of Germany and the only German city with a real skyline, though from this angle the towers stand back behind the riverside trees. The Main carries barge traffic and the excursion boats that work the city reach.

The camera pans, so the towers of the banking district come into frame at intervals. In leaf the trees in the foreground close the view almost completely.
