Weather and time
This camera overlooks the old port of Roscoff, a tidal harbour basin on the north coast of Finistère in Brittany. Granite jetties, moored sailing boats and a concrete pier fill the view, with small rocky islets on the horizon.
The old port lies on the Quai Charles de Gaulle at the foot of the town and is sheltered by stone jetties. The basin dries out at low tide, and boats then rest on sand and mud. The Phare de Roscoff, a granite tower in service since 1934, stands close by on the Quai d'Auxerre.
The camera shows more than one angle. One looks down the concrete pier with its lamp post toward the harbour mouth and the open sea. Another turns to the inner jetty and the basin, where fishing boats lie along the outer quay. The water level differs sharply between the two, so the scene depends on the tide.
