Weather and time
This fixed camera on the seafront of Roscoff looks out over the sea toward the Île de Batz and the channel that separates it from the mainland. In the foreground are a small car park, a seafront path and a low hedge, with a stone sea wall along the shore.
Roscoff is a port town on the north coast of Finistère, and the Île de Batz lies just offshore. The wide panorama also takes in the Anse du Laber on the left and the tip of the Perharidy peninsula, with low islands and rocks along the horizon. At low tide a broad rocky foreshore is exposed, while at higher water the sea fills the channel.
The picture is mostly sky and a thin band of sea, and the tide changes the foreground from bare rock and sand to open water. Unlike the old port camera in the same town, which looks into a harbour basin, this one faces the open channel.
