Weather and time
This camera looks north-northwest from the Lyngvig Fyr lighthouse on Holmsland Klit, over North Sea surf and coastal dunes. Heath-covered dunes, sandy footpaths and a conifer plantation fill the land side of the view.
Lyngvig Fyr is a white lighthouse about 38 metres tall, completed in 1906 on the Holmsland Klit spit, roughly 5 km north of Hvide Sande. The spit is a narrow strip of dunes with the North Sea on its western side and Ringkøbing Fjord on the east.
The camera is mounted high on the tower, so the picture is a steep look down over the dune ridge to the surf line on the left, with a row of wind turbines on the distant horizon. In sunlight the shadow of the tower falls across the dunes, and sandy tracks curve through the heath below the tower.
