Lanterna, Mali Lošinj Live Cam

Čikat bay opens out below this webcam on the island of Lošinj, in the northern Adriatic off the coast of Croatia. Pines lean over the shoreline path in the foreground, and boats lie at moorings along the far side of the inlet.

Čikat is the resort side of Mali Lošinj, laid out in the late nineteenth century when the island was promoted as a climatic health resort within Austria-Hungary. The pine woods around the bay were planted then, and the villas and the promenade date from the same period.

The town's deep natural harbour, on the other side of the headland, takes the ferries to Cres and the mainland. The water in the bay stays calm and the moorings fill through July and August.
