Palada Baska, Krk Island Live Cam

Baška sits at the southern end of the island of Krk, at the foot of a dry valley that opens onto the Adriatic. The webcam looks over the harbour and the promenade.

A church a couple of kilometres inland held the Baška tablet, a stone slab carved around 1100 in the Glagolitic alphabet. It is the oldest substantial text naming a Croatian king in the Croatian language, and a copy stands where the original was found.

The beach here is two kilometres of pebble under bare limestone ridges. The hills are treeless because of centuries of sheep grazing and the bura wind, which strips the soil off the rock and keeps the slopes as they are.
