Whistler Golf Club, First hole Live Cam

The first hole of the Whistler Golf Club lies in front of this webcam, in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia. Fairway and green lie under snow through the winter, with tall cedars and firs closing both sides of the hole.

The course was laid out in 1983 and rebuilt in 2000, on the valley floor in the middle of the resort. Whistler works in both directions: skiing on the two mountains above from November, golf, hiking and mountain biking on this ground from May.

Between seasons the frame shows the changeover — snow melting off the fairway, or the first covering coming down onto cut grass. Cross-country tracks are set across the course in midwinter.
