False Creek, British Columbia Live Cam

False Creek is a short inlet cutting into the middle of Vancouver, on the west coast of Canada in British Columbia. The webcam looks out from a fuel dock towards the Burrard Bridge and the towers.

The name is a complaint. A naval surveyor pushed up here in 1859 expecting a river, found the water ended in a mudflat and wrote it off; the name stuck to the inlet he was annoyed by.

Two-thirds of it were filled in for railway yards and industry and then cleared again: the south shore was rebuilt for a world fair in 1986 and the north shore afterwards, and what was a working creek is now flats, marinas and a seawall path.
