Weather and time

This live webcam shows a marina in Tsehum Harbour, North Saanich, with a narrow lane of calm water running between sailboats and boathouses. Masts rise above the floats on the left, while a row of covered boat sheds with metal roofs lines the right side.

Tsehum Harbour is a sheltered inlet on the Saanich Peninsula of Vancouver Island, a few kilometres north of the town of Sidney. Marinas, boatyards and yacht club moorings crowd its shores. The Tseycum people once lived here before moving to Patricia Bay, and older charts labelled the inlet Shoal Harbour until its original name was restored in 1939.

The camera takes a low, very wide panorama straight down the fairway, so the still water in the centre leads the eye past the boat sheds toward the open harbour, with tall evergreens rising behind the moorings.
