Beach, Balneário Camboriú Live Cam

Central Beach at Balneário Camboriú runs the length of this view, on the coast of Santa Catarina in Brazil. The bay curves from the headland in the foreground to the far end of the sand, with tower blocks packed along the whole of it.

The city has more high-rise per head than anywhere else in the country, and several of the tallest buildings in South America stand in this frame. The beach itself was widened with pumped sand in 2021 because the towers had left it in shade and too narrow to use.

This is the widest of the four cameras in the city: the others show the seafront avenue, the Ferris wheel and the river mouth. A cable car crosses the ridge at the far end towards the next bay.
