San Juan Capistrano Depot, California Live Cam

On the platform of the historic San Juan Capistrano depot in California, the camera looks along a single track lined with red bougainvillea. A brick tower rises behind the flowers, and palms and green hills fill the distance.

The restored Santa Fe depot dates from 1894 and stands in the center of San Juan Capistrano in Orange County, close to the old mission. Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner and Metrolink commuter trains stop here, and a few BNSF freights pass through on the Orange Subdivision.

Most of the time the camera holds this platform-level view with the Restrooms sign and the lettered coach marker beside the rails. Now and then it tilts up to show the dome-topped tower above the tile roofs. Platform lamps light the scene after dark.
