The Memorial Tower, also called North Carolina State University Memorial Bell Tower, was completed in 1937 as a tribute to university alumni killed in World War I and later to all students and former students of the university who died in service. It was designed with Romanesque Revival and Collegiate Gothic elements and made of granite, with concrete at the base.
