Madison Barracks Marina Live Cam

Madison Barracks Marina sits behind a stone breakwall on Lake Ontario, at the village of Sackets Harbor in northern New York. The camera looks across the docks from the grass above them.

This was the American naval base on the lake during the war of 1812, and a shipyard that put warships together in a matter of weeks. British forces attacked it twice; the second attempt, in May 1813, was fought off within sight of this water.

Madison Barracks went up as a permanent army post after the war and stayed one until 1946. Its stone buildings now hold flats and offices, and the marina occupies what used to be a garrison waterfront.
