Jinks Creek, Ocean Isle Beach Live Cam

This camera looks out over Jinks Creek at Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, where islands of marsh grass break up the open tidal water. Homes on the island appear on the far left, and a wooded shoreline runs along the horizon.

Ocean Isle Beach is a barrier island town in Brunswick County, between Sunset Beach and Holden Beach. It is reached by Causeway Drive and the Odell Williamson Bridge over the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. The causeway was built by the island's founder, Odell Williamson, who became its first mayor.

The fixed view comes from a restaurant deck on Causeway Drive. The tide is the main change here: at high water the grass islands nearly disappear, while at low water the marsh banks stand well above the creek. The wakes of passing boats sometimes cross the water.
