Henderson Beach Inn Destin, Florida Live Cam

Emerald water breaks on the white quartz sand at Destin, on the Gulf coast of the Florida panhandle, in the United States. Loungers and umbrellas stand in a line along the top of the beach.

The sand is almost pure quartz, carried down from the Appalachians by rivers and ground fine, and it reflects enough light through the shallows to give the water its colour. The whole shoreline here is marketed as the Emerald Coast because of it.

Henderson Beach State Park, with dunes and boardwalks, lies next to the hotel this webcam is mounted on. The picture is used as a surf and flag check as much as a view.
