Agassiz Lodge, Arizona Live Cam

Agassiz Lodge stands at the foot of the slopes at Arizona Snowbowl, on the San Francisco Peaks above Flagstaff, Arizona. The camera looks up the run from the terrace, past fire pits and picnic tables.

The peaks are what is left of a stratovolcano that collapsed inward. Humphreys Peak, at 3,851 metres, is the highest point in Arizona, and Agassiz Peak beside it is the second; the ski area sits on the flank of Agassiz.

Snowfall varies wildly from winter to winter, so the resort makes snow from reclaimed water — a practice contested for years by tribes who hold the peaks sacred. In summer a chairlift runs for walkers and the terrace stays open.
