Axis Experience Washington DC Live Cam

The Potomac separates this webcam at Arlington from the centre of Washington, on the Virginia side of the river. The curved blocks of the Watergate complex and the Kennedy Center stand on the far bank, with the city rising behind them.

The camera pans and zooms, so it works through the landmarks in turn: the Washington Monument with its ring of flags, the Lincoln and Jefferson memorials, the bridges and the river traffic. The river here is the boundary between the District of Columbia and Virginia.

The overlay carries the local forecast. In autumn the tree cover along both banks turns, and after dark the monuments are floodlit.
