Anthony's Italian Coffee House sits on 9th Street in South Philadelphia, at the upper end of the market that runs down it. The webcam covers the shopfront and the pavement outside.

The market grew out of the Italian immigration into this district at the end of the nineteenth century, when families from the south of Italy settled the streets around 9th and opened stalls that in some cases their descendants still run.

The neighbourhood has changed around it. The southern end of the market is now largely Mexican, with Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses among them, and that mix is what keeps the street trading six days a week.
