Şebinkarahisar Square, Turkey Live Cam

Şebinkarahisar sits in the mountains inland from the Black Sea coast, in Giresun province in northern Turkey. The camera turns across the square and the castle above it.

The castle stands on a volcanic plug several hundred metres above the town and has been fortified since antiquity, when the place was a Roman colony on the road east.

Giresun, the province, gave the cherry its name: the Latin word came from Kerasous on the coast below, and cherries are still the crop the district is known for, along with walnuts grown on these slopes.
