Yavuz Kemal Kulakkaya Plateau Live Cam

The street of Yavuz Kemal runs across this webcam view, in a village on the Kulakkaya plateau in Giresun province, Turkey. Timber and stone houses line the snow-covered road, and dogs cross the frame in front of the shopfronts.

The plateau lies at around 1,500 metres in the mountains behind the Black Sea coast, in the belt of high summer pasture that the region calls yayla. Families move up here with livestock in June and go back down in autumn; Giresun below is hazelnut country.

In winter the village is snowbound and largely empty, which is what this frame usually shows. In July the same street carries festival traffic.
