Playa de Salinas, West Live Cam

The western end of Playa de Salinas lies below this view in Asturias, on the Atlantic coast of northern Spain. The rocky headland of La Peñona closes the bay, and the promenade with its white railings runs below the lens.

Salinas is one of the longest beaches in Asturias and one of the oldest surf spots in the country. On the headland stands an open-air museum of anchors, laid out around an anchor given by Philippe Cousteau, and a path runs up over the rock to it.

Atlantic swell reaches this coast most of the year, and in winter the beach is empty apart from surfers. The camera is mounted on the sailing club at the end of the promenade.
