Playa de Muro Beach, Mallorca Live Cam

Playa de Muro runs along the bay of Alcúdia on the north coast of Mallorca, shallow and sandy for several kilometres. The camera looks down the rows of sunbeds from a resort behind the dune.

Behind the pines is s'Albufera, the largest wetland in the Balearics. An English company drained it in the 1860s to farm rice and hemp and eventually gave up; what is left is a natural park where more than three hundred bird species have been recorded.

The bay shelves so gently that the water stays shallow a long way out, which is why the beach fills with families. The mountains at the northern end are the Serra de Tramuntana, and Alcúdia old town sits on the neck between the two bays.
