Kala Kalua Playa, Málaga Live Cam

The chiringuito at the end of the San Pedro promenade stands on the beach west of Marbella, on the Costa del Sol. The camera looks along the sand from under its thatch.

San Pedro de Alcántara was not a fishing village but an agricultural colony, founded in 1860 by a general who bought the land and settled workers on it to grow sugar cane. The grid of streets behind the beach is the plan he drew.

A sixth-century basilica and a Roman bath house lie a few hundred metres inland, dug out of the dunes in the 1930s. The boardwalk past the beach belongs to a coastal path being joined up along the whole of this coast.
