Nagasaki Harbor Live Cam

Nagasaki harbour lies below this webcam on the hillside above the city, on the island of Kyushu in Japan. A cruise ship lies lit at the quay, and the Megami suspension bridge crosses the harbour mouth beyond it.

The harbour is a drowned valley, narrow and deep, with the city climbing the slopes on both sides. It works as a cruise port and as the terminal for ferries to the islands of the prefecture, and the shipyards on the western shore have been building here since the nineteenth century.

The city is known for its night view precisely because of this bowl shape, with lights rising on all sides above the water. Rain and low cloud are frequent, and the far shore often disappears entirely.
