Koto City, Tokyo Live Cam

Canals meet below this camera in Koto City, and the towers along the Tokyo waterfront light up as the sky goes dark. The Skytree stands on the skyline to the north.

Koto is one of the twenty-three special wards of Tokyo and much of it is reclaimed land, built out into the bay over three centuries. Warehouses and timber yards occupied this ground until the 1980s; residential towers occupy it now.

The canals are what remains of the working port, when barges moved rice and lumber inland from the anchorage. Toyosu, the fish market that replaced Tsukiji in 2018, is a short distance south of the frame, and the live stream runs through the night.
