Piazza dei Signori, the central square of Treviso in the Veneto region of Italy, lies below this webcam. The brick Palazzo dei Trecento stands on the left, and a narrow street leads north out of the square between the rooftops.

The Palazzo dei Trecento was built in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries and still houses the city council; opposite it stands the Palazzo Pretorio behind a seventeenth-century front, with the civic tower above. Treviso is cut through by canals fed by springs, which is why it is often compared with Venice thirty kilometres to the south.

Café tables cover the paving in the evening and the square is the fixed point of the aperitivo hour. From this height the pattern of tiled roofs is as much of the picture as the square itself.
