Panorama Chairlift, Passo Lanciano Live Cam

The upper station of the Panorama chairlift above Passo Lanciano stands beside a beech wood, with Apennine ridges filling the horizon. In front of the camera, a grassy slope dotted with limestone boulders and an orange safety fence leads towards the station.

Passo Lanciano is a mountain pass on the northern side of the Maiella massif, in the municipality of Pretoro in the province of Chieti. Its small ski area climbs from about 1,300 to 1,650 metres, just below the slopes of the Maielletta, and lies within the Maiella National Park.

Set about 1,600 metres up, the camera rotates between the lift station with the valleys beyond, the mountainsides to the west and the grassland rising towards the bare upper slopes of the Maiella. On clear days the jagged peaks of the Gran Sasso, the highest massif of the Apennines, stand out on the skyline.
