Schlüttsiel Ferry Port, Schleswig-Holstein Live Cam

Rain moves across the Wadden Sea at Schlüttsiel, where the ferry berth reaches out from the dyke in North Frisia. Lorries and cars wait on the quay below the camera.

Boats run from here to the Halligen, low marsh islands with no dykes of their own that are flooded outright several times a winter. The panel in the corner of the frame gives local weather and the state of the tide.

The whole foreshore belongs to the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park, listed by UNESCO, where the water withdraws for kilometres at low tide. Frisian islands show as a line on the horizon in clear weather.
