Underwater view, Podgora Live Cam

This camera is eight metres under the Adriatic off Podgora, on the Makarska Riviera in Croatia, looking at the seabed. Fish pass in front of it and a lamp lights the scene after dark.

What comes past is mostly damselfish, salema and wrasse, with the occasional larger visitor. The Adriatic is clear because it is poor: little sediment comes into it and there is not much plankton, which is what makes the water look the way it does and the fish easy to see.

Podgora is a fishing village under the wall of the Biokovo mountain, which rises to over 1,700 metres within a few kilometres of the shore. The tourist board and the county pay for the camera.
