Huoshenshan Hospital, Wuhan, view 2 Live Cam

This camera was put up to watch the building of Huoshenshan hospital in Wuhan, over a fortnight in the winter of 2020. The picture is the site under floodlight, with cranes and prefabricated wards.

The hospital was assembled from modular units in ten days. Ground was broken on 23 January and the first patients arrived on 3 February: a thousand beds, put up by crews working in shifts round the clock, on ground that had been a holiday resort car park.

Tens of millions of people watched the construction feeds while it went up, which is a large part of why cameras like this one exist at all. The hospital took patients for about two months and closed once the city's cases fell away.
