Hucks Marine & Resort, Rockport Live Cam

The St Lawrence runs past Rockport in eastern Ontario, through the Thousand Islands, with the American shore on the far side. The webcam looks out over the water from a marina.

The count is 1,864, on a definition that takes some explaining: an island has to stay above water all year and support at least one tree. The border between Canada and the United States picks its way between them.

The marina here has been a family business since 1889. Boats are the point of the place, the channels being shallow and complicated, and the granite the islands are made of is the southern edge of the Canadian Shield.
