Vasil Levski Hut, Plovdiv Live Cam

Vasil Levski hut sits above Karlovo on the southern side of the Balkan range, and its camera looks across beech forest to the main ridge. The hut is behind the camera, out of shot.

The forest fills the lower two thirds of the picture, a bare rocky crest rises behind it, and a solar-powered lamp on a post stands at the right edge. Cloud usually caps the ridge in the afternoon even when the valley below is clear.

The hut is one of the standard starting points for the climb toward Botev, the highest summit in the range, so the state of the ridge in this frame is practical information rather than scenery. Snow lies up there well into spring, long after Karlovo has turned green.
